The success of a membership association, such as the RAA, greatly depends on participation of its volunteers.
HOW TO SIGN UP FOR A committee
You must sign up for committee choices each year, as they do not carry over.
Please indicate your choices.
Most committees meet a total of 3 to 4 times a year.
All committees are open to both REALTOR® and Affiliate members, except where noted.
RAA COMMITTEES
Budget & Finance Committee *
Keisha LeBlanc, Chairperson
Reviews financial statements and recommends annual budget to the Board of Directors.
Events & Community Outreach Committee
Vernon Jenkins & Ethan Broussard, Co-Chairs
Plans, executes, and promotes all of the RAA’s major events including Gumbo Cook-Off, Affiliate Appreciation Day, and REALTOR® Appreciation Day.
RAA Ambassadors
Charles Ditch, Chairperson
Enhance community involvement to promote the value proposition of using a REALTOR® and engage in community activities that enhance the image of REALTORS®.
Membership Committee
Christie House Theaux & Jana Hickey, Co-Chairs
Plans and executes the monthly New Member Orientation program, makes recommendations on member services and promotes all local, state, and national REALTOR® events.
Cultural Diversity Committee
Stephen Eggleston & Mariana Ducharme, co-chairs
Promotes awareness of Fair Housing practices through seminars and programs.
Legislative Committee
Jessica Lafitte Landry, chairperson
Monitors legislation affecting the real estate industry and promotes awareness to the membership.
REALTORS® Commercial Alliance***
Caitlyn Williams, President
This committee is dedicated to the growth within our community as it relates to commercial development. Membership in this committee allows you access to networking opportunities geared towards commercial, investment, and exchange real estate.
Professional Development Committee
Claire Disch & Helen Thibeaux, Co-Chairs
Coordinates continuing education schedule and recommends topics and classes to be considered.
Professional Standards Committee**
Ivan Jennings, Chairperson
Arbitrates business disputes and conducts ethics hearings in cases of alleged violations.
Your Professional Network
Blake Weaver, President
This committee is geared towards agents with 0-3 years in the industry and provides resources and networking opportunities for newer agents.
Property Management Council
Zed Lacour, Chairperson
This committee is dedicated to enhancing knowledge pertaining to Property Management.
MLS User Group
Lizzie Herter, Chairperson
Discusses potential field changes in MLS and identifies new potential software to bring forth to the MLS Committee.
Honor Society
Kelly Streva, Chairperson
Recognizes members for their association activity, professionalism, education, and community service.
* Note 1: All applicants will be reviewed by the Executive Team. The Treasurer will make recommendations to the Board of Directors for three new members every year.
