SCHEDULE OF CLASSES & REGISTRATION

The Louisiana Real Estate Commission requires every licensed agent to complete 12 hours of continuing education to renew their license.

The REALTOR® Association of Acadiana provides free education to all our members with the exception of a few classes.

For non-members, there is a fee to attend a live continuing education class. If you would like to attend a 2-hour class, the cost is $50. If you would attend a 4-hour class, the cost is $100. If you are a newly licensed agent, the LREC requires you to complete a 45 hour post licensing course within the first 180 days your license is active. After you complete this course, the only other mandated class you are required to have is the Mandatory topic for that year.

YEARLY / TRIENNIAL REQUIREMENTS

Yearly Requirement

Every year the Louisiana Real Estate Commission, mandates every licensed agent take the Mandatory class for that year. In 2020, the Mandatory class is titled: 2020 Mandatory –Fair Housing & Cultural Diversity. This class must be taken by December 31st, 2020.

 

Triennial Requirement

The National Association of REALTORS® requires all REALTOR® members take the Code of Ethics every 3 years. We are currently in the 2019-2021 cycle. You must take the Code of Ethics by December 31st, 2021. You can take this course live for continuing education credit, or you can take it online for free with NAR.

The REALTOR® Association of Acadiana (RAA) requires every member take the MLS Rules & Procedures class in the same cycle as the Code of Ethics (2019-2021). Click here to view the education calendar and register for this class.

NAR DESIGNATIONS

The National Association of REALTORS® and its affiliated Institutes, Societies, and Councils provide a wide-range of programs and services that help members increase their skills, proficiency and knowledge. Designations and certifications are acknowledging experience and expertise in various real estate sectors are awarded by NAR and each affiliated group upon completion of required courses.
